My History – I am a second-generation Santa. My dad has portrayed Santa for well over 20 years in the Memphis area getting his start while working for the Memphis Fire Department. My Santa portrayal began in 1998. I started with Cherry Hill Photo working a promotion for K-Mart Supercenter. I repeated this appearance in 1999. Portraying Santa made Christmas time fun for me again. Since I was having so much fun, I decided to look into to getting my own suit and doing private parties. A lady from church agreed to go with me to purchase pattern and fabric. A woman in front of us at checkout (“Mrs. B”) saw the fabric and asked if I hired out as Santa. I gave her my name and number and thus launched my seasonal career. “Mrs. B” from the fabric store is a one woman word-of-mouth advertising guru for me. She recommended me to the Salvation Army which has proven a wonderful avenue of referrals through the years. Thanks “Mrs. B”
